Historical Books of the Old Testament follows the nation of Israel from its conception and calling, through the reigns of evil and righteous kings, and finally, to the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. Dr. Shults examines the rise, fall and tenacity of God's chosen people, who experience both suffering and blessing as they repeatedly wander between sin and faithful obedience to God. Through the eyes and words of the prophets, God's perspective is displayed in His judgments as well as His long-suffering mercy and love to all.
